The blonde waitress wasn't having a whole lot of success with her little mission to get on Marnie's good side. It might have worked out better if Gran hadn't tried to contact her, but as much as that had thrown off the becoming part of the coven plan, Sookie couldn't bring herself to be angry at all about what had happened. It felt like it had been ages since Sookie had heard Gran's voice, so even if it was through someone else's mind, Sookie had been satisfied. It killed her sometimes that she couldn't talk to Gran whenever she wanted. She missed Gran so much. It was still odd not to have her in the house sometimes. It felt empty.

Anyway, she'd spent enough time away from Bill and she hadn't heard from him in a while, so Sookie decided that even if it meant she probably would run into Killian she was going to go to the Compton house. Bill was her boyfriend. She was allowed to see him, right? Well, even if they threw a vampire sized fit, she was going to go over and try.

After her shift at Merlotte's she went home and changed into a pair of shorts and a blue t-shirt. She pulled her hair out of it's ponytail and let it fall down. Then she headed across the cemetery to the Compton house. She looked at the house and then made her way up to the door. She thought about knocking, but this wasn't Killian's house, it was Bill's, whether he was currently in charge or not. And she was seeing him. He hadn't ever made her knock before, she wasn't going to start now. She pushed the door open and stood in the doorway, trying to decide where she should start. Would he be in his room or had Killian moved him?

There was one task that Sookie had been assigned and it was something she felt needed to be done immediately. She would have left for the place as soon as she got home if she hadn't needed some time to think her plan through. She wasn't sure if Killian's little stunt was just an act or if he was really just a crazy vampire – she'd met plenty of those kind since Bill Compton had come into her life. But either way it didn't really matter. These witches needed to be dealt with and if Sookie could help in any way she would. Time didn't seem to be on her side. She wasn't sure how long Bill could last without her blood, since it seemed to be the only thing for the moment that he was actually able to drink. She hoped that that thing Andrew had said about a cure at the vampire meeting was at least somewhat true. She didn't mind feeding Bill at all, but it didn't look like she was going to be able to.

She had meant to sleep the rest of the night, but she couldn't manage to turn her brain off. She wanted to get rest because she didn't think that the Moon Goddess Emporium was open at night. She was fairly certain that someone would be there even if she did go by at three in the morning, but she didn't think the Marnie witch would believe her that she just wanted to join the little circle if she appeared at night.

So Sookie waited until 8 AM and got dressed in a pair of jeans and a t-shirt. She threw her hair back into a tight ponytail and headed to Shreveport in her little car. She wasn't exactly sure where Moon Goddess was, but after getting turned around a couple of times she finally found the place. The lights were on, so that was a good sign, Sookie thought. She took a deep breath and got out of her car, then walked into the building, hearing the ding of the bell that signaled someone had walked in. She looked around and pretended to be interested in the prices of the psychic readings that were advertised.

Her grandfather had a tombstone, but there was no body in it. His body had turned to dust when he came back with Sookie from Faery. He thought he'd only been gone a few hours but it had been several years. That should have been Sookie's first clue that there was something wrong. It should have tipped her off that even though she thought she had been gone only several minutes it was really much longer. Her grandaddy's grave held no body, but she laid flowers down anyway, right next to where she put Gran's.

Sometimes Sookie just wished she could get a break. She'd gone to Faery and had come back a year later with so many changes. Eric Northman now owned her house, Jason was a cop... it was all just a lot to take in. And speaking of Jason, he was into something with Steve Newlin and that didn't sit very well in Sookie's head. Steve had tried to kill her; he had brainwashed Jason once before so she wasn't sure if that's what he'd done this time or if he'd actually glamoured her brother. Either way she wanted her big brother back but she wasn't entirely sure how to make that happen.

Wanting everything to stop was why she'd gone to Faery in the first place. And that hadn't turned out well at all. Sure, she'd gotten to see her Grandaddy, but the faries had also tried to make her eat some weird fruit so she couldn't leave. That was very not cool. And even though it had started in this cemetary, this was still the most peaceful place Sookie could think of to just come and sort through her thoughts. So that's what she'd done. She sat on the ground, probably getting her yellow dress all green and muddy, just thinking - wishing that something would come along and either let her clear her head, or just get her to not think about everything right now.

It had been a while since Sookie had seen Bill. Now that she thought about it she didn't think that she had seen him since the party at Merlotte's. Of course, she had had her own things going on, with Eric owning her house and whatnot. But she thought it was a little odd that she hadn't seen the vampire king around since then. She wasn't dating Mr. Compton anymore but she still saw him on an at least semi-regular basis. The sun was getting ready to set and the blonde didn't have to be in to work tonight so she decided to head across the cemetery and to her neighbor's house.

The last time she had been to Vampire Bill's house the guards had prevented her from enering. She wasn't sure if that had been because they were unfamiliar with her or because Bill was with Portia at the time, but he had made it clear that she was allowed to be in the house. She really didn't have any intention on making plans to regularly be in the house, but it was good to know that Bill trusted her enough to be there.

Sookie walked up to the house and stopped in front of a guard who she thought was the same one she had talked to before. "We aren't gonna have a problem this time, are we?" she asked. The guard took long enough to respond that Sookie took a peak inside his head. He seemed to be debating with himself - on the one hand Bill had told them to always let her in, but on the other hand he seemed to be having a difficult time with something. From his thoughts Sookie couldn't figure out what that something was, but she pushed through and he guard seemed to decide that she might as well go in.

The sun had set by now so Sookie opened the door. "Bill?" she didn't know where to look first, maybe the hole in the floor but she figured with the renovations he had maybe made a new sleeping place. "Bill... Ya alright? "

Tonight was supposed to be Sookie's night off. Of course when someone called off Sookie was the first person they called. She supposed she kind of deserved it. She had been gone for a year. She was lucky that Sam had given her her job back. And she could use the extra hours. Sookie just really wished she could have one of those boring nights – one like she used to have when her biggest worry was that someone thought she was a freak and that the library might not have the next romance in the series when she was ready for it. While her life had certainly been more entertaining since Bill walked into her life (along with the rest of the supernatural world), she sometimes wished that she could go back to being the old Sookie who didn't date and who thought she was completely human.
Learning that she was part fae had thrown her life for another loop. She wished that her Gran was still around to talk things through with. She missed her Gran's wise words and good cooking. Since Gran had passed the only family that Sookie had left was Jason. Jason was a great brother, but he wasn't the kind of person Sookie would call just to talk. He was the brother that was good with tools and someone she could call when her car broke down. He was really protective and he almost always stood up for her. And he had matured a lot since she'd been gone. He was a police officer even. He had taken on quite the responsibility with that. But she still couldn't imagine herself picking up the phone just to talk about the weird light she could make with her hands.
The blonde waitress was in her usual attire for work – a Merlotte's uniform with a high pony tale and a pair of white sneakers. She usually had a smile on her face, but tonight it felt forced, like she had to concentrate to keep it in place. She hoped she seemed happy enough to keep the customers in their seats. She took a look around the room and mentally checked her tables off in her head. It didn't look like anyone needed her and it sounded like everyone was enjoying their food and drink, so Sookie decided to start wiping down tables. It was a bus boy's job, but she needed something to do.
